Sass & Bide's Seekerstate A/W 2012

If I was given a credit card to splurge on any one store, right now, it would be Sass & Bide. Even though this is its Autumn/Winter collection, I feel like its colors and patterns are perfect for summer. Usually I would just write a small paragraph on the collection as a whole, but I am so obsessed with every outfit in this post, that I can't limit myself to just one general spat.

These neon necklaces in the first and third outfits are a must for this season. As many of my posts have talked about before, neon and bright colors are a super huge trend right now. Unfortunately, it can be really tough to pull off a solid neon piece or outfit. Just a bright, neon accessory like this necklace can have the same effect and add to any outfit.

As I have also said before, I am a fan of metallics and sparkles. The beading or sequins or whatever gorgeous sparkly thing they used on the top in the first outfit is beautiful and makes me want it on my body immediately. I am in love with the full-on metallic dress. It's so easy and instantly glamorous.

The patterns and colors of the last outfit are perfect for a day party in the hills of Malibu or for a nice lunch on Rodeo.

Again, the patterns and colors are amazing in this set of three outfits. I love love love the beading and shape of the first outfit. Now that maxi dresses are so trendy and overdone, this one by Sass & Bide is completely different and unique. The bright yellow is perfect for sunny days and the metallic silver with the see-through cutout makes it special and fun.

Speaking of maxi dresses. Oh. My. God. Seriously?! The second look is SO easy and understated. Perfect for a yacht party or a chance to wear all-white before Labor Day. I love the simplicity of it and then the staple yellow clutch to add a pop to the outfit. The third outfit. Ahhh. It looks wet and just gorgeous. The high-slit is also super trendy right now and the monochromatic look of it all is just insane, yet so glitzy because of the beading. Do not even get me started on the first outfit. I have no words.

I have no effing idea where I would even wear the first or third outfits but they are genius. I love the cutouts and the beading. The third outfit. I don't even know what it is. A bodysuit? A dress? It's honestly breathtaking and I would sell my liver (which would mean that I could never drink again) for that outfit. It's like birthday suit meets Britney Spears' Toxic barely-there get-up meets... Heaven.

Lustforlife's Olivia Lopez

At the Planet Blue x Foam Magazine Coachella pool party, the Alcazar hotel was swarmed with beautiful men and and women clothed in the most beautiful and unique pieces I've seen up close. There was one outfit in particular that I looooved. It was for by a petite brunette, who was wearing a light, white lace tank top paired with a floral pastel-colored maxi skirt with a high slit. It was possibly the best outfit I had seen all Coachella weekend. After my incident of love-at-first-sight with the feminine ensemble, I noticed it on Pinterest, while I was pinning away during my Communications Research class. Soon after, I kept noticing more and more photos of this girl wearing other pieces that I wanted in my closet.

I soon learned that the well-dressed girl was Olivia Lopez, blogger for LUST FOR LIFE. Olivia is only 19-years-old. By her senior year of high school, she had already appeared in international publications- Nylon Japan, Elle China, etc. and consulted for LA's boutique, Kitson, among other things. During my senior year, I was going to house parties I'd like to consider as ghetto, trying to get over a high school boyfriend, and planning pep rallies.

Here are some of my favorite outfits worn by Olivia:

Metallics, furs, lace, cut-outs, chunky sweaters. Olivia Lopez is my new style crush. You can see more of her work and style on her website, LUST FOR LIFE, and join in with my obsession.

Planet Blue's Space Lotus 2012

Planet Blue's Space Lotus lookbook is out and I LOVE the pieces photographed in them. I love the contrast with the sheer dark fabrics and the loud, neon detail. The ombre maxi dress in pretty blues is beautiful and the bold tribal print is perfect for summer parties.

Shop these pieces by Mara Hoffman, Chelsea Flower, Antik Batik, & Twelfth Street by Cynthia Vincent at Planet Blue.

Met Gala Ball 2012

It's Met Gala time, or as some people like to call it, "Oscars of the East Coast." This is the annual Costume Institute Ball that celebrates the opening of the Metropolitan Museum's fashion exhibit at the Costume Institute. The event, which is hosted by Vogue, is the world's best red carpet event for fashion. Each year, celebrities, designers, and other fashion icons flock together to show off their designer threads.

This is my best dressed list:

1. Camilla Belle in Ralph Lauren
2. Jessica Alba in Michael Kors
3. January Jones in Versace
4. Kate Bosworth in Prada
5.Vera Wang in Vera Wang
6. Emily Blunt in Calvin Klein
7. Renee Zellwegger in Emilio Pucci
8. Cate Blanchett in Alexander McQueen

Looking at my best dressed list, I see a pattern- I like metallics, neutral colors, bright colors, low backs, and feathers. Camilla Belle looks drop. dead. gorgeous. Kate Bosworth is a vision in feathers. Vera Wang is rocking those cut-outs. And I've never seen Emily Blunt look this good.

And with every Best Dressed list, there's a Worst:

1. Elizabeth Banks in Mary Katrantzou
2. Bianca Brandolini D'Adda in Dolce & Gabbana
3. Ashley Olsen... in who knows what?
4. Shailene Woodley in Christopher Kane
5. Anja Rubik in Anthony Vaccarello
6. Leighton Meester in Marchesa
7. Kirsten Stewart in Balenciaga
8. Diane Von Furstenburg

I don't even know how to comment on my worst dressed list. 1 & 2 don't need explanations. Ashley Olsen needs to crawl back into the tombstone that she looks like she crawled out of. Shailene Woodley-- I'd rather be a teen mom than wear that dress. I feel like I have morning sickness thanks to you. Anja Rubik--- sorry, your barely there dress look isn't working. Others have done the high-slit way before you and looked much better (ex: Gwyneth Paltrow & Angelina Jolie). Besides, your hip bone is not the best accessory. Leighton Meester... I love you, but I'd rather see Blaire Waldorf on this red carpet. And again, no need for explanation for the last two.

That is all.

Bright Height

Brittany Snow, Ashley Olsen, & Fergie in Neon Pumps.

Are we sick of the neon trend yet? Uhmm. No. Not when summer is basically here, at least. We're about to be the tannest we will ever be all year and there's nothing like those bright hues to show off that cinnamon skin.

Instead of doing neon in the obvious ways like blouses, dresses, bathing suits, whatever, it can be fun to just have a pop of neon. This can be done by wearing a neutral colored outfit, like white, black, or nude, and then making it fun by adding on neon-colored heels (only 5 inches and above, ladies!).

Personally, my favorite version of this look is Ashley Olsen's. I love the simple, white dress and then the loud, unexpected hot pink shoe.

Recently, I found a steal that inspired this post in the first place. While shopping for conservative shoes/clothes for New York with my mom, I stumbled upon neon pink platforms that are borderline stripper-esque.

Jessica Simpson (much more neon/brighter in person)

Don't worry- I don't plan on wearing these babies with a skin-tight glittery get up that could be found at Spearmint Rhino. I'm gonna rock em' with something simple and understated and channel my inner Olsen.
